Bhargava Capital (BC) is a capital formation advisor/placement agent specializing in emerging markets and alternative investments, with a particular focus on India.
Bhargava Capital represents a limited number of non-competing investment strategies at any time to ensure that superior funds and investments are provided to our investor base. This approach allows us to give our representative funds and investments, partner-level attention and effective support.
BC investor base includes endowment, foundations, insurance companies, pension plans, family offices, HNI’s and sovereign wealth funds.
Since inception, BC has either raised or facilitated approximately $3 billion for a variety of specialist funds and transactions
BC has significant investment experience in India and the US. Most investor allocations are still underweight India relative to the India growth trajectory expected for the next two decades. BC's experience in the developed markets enables BC to provide value to global investors as their allocation to India increases over time.
The Founder of BC, Rakesh Bhargava, has 35 years experience as a financial advisor and asset manager at major Wall Street firms across all asset classes as well as structured products. His India focus began at the time India opened up to foreign investment in 1991.
The Founder and his team have developed a strong network in India. As a result the firm is able to review many investment opportunities (funds and directs) and select a fund or company on the basis of a competent and ethical management team, the potential to grow and in the case of a company, the potential to scale up globally.
BC has had opportunities to raise capital for funds & companies in the infrastructure, consumer, renewable energy and technology sectors.
In the past, BC has had mandates to raise capital for funds originating from firms like Larsen &Toubro, Motilal Oswal, LVMH, Carlyle and Portfolio Advisors.
BC and the Founder have focused on global investors. BC will often work with country specific broker/dealers to expand the global reach.
We strive to create value through developing and utilizing a strong understanding of the needs and demands of both, the fund managers/corporations that we represent and the investors.
We meet with both our investors and managers personally and on a regular basis. We limit our number of assignments to effectively utilize our full resources, which allows us to allocate more time to identify quality funds and direct investments for our investors.
We seek managers in certain growth sectors that have demonstrated consistency, significant domain knowledge, stability, integrity, and superior performance.
We then work with our institutional investors to address their specific needs and introduce them to funds/corporations that both meet their requirements and are considered leaders among their peers.
